I chose UCSF for residency because: I wanted a residency program that would give me a strong foundation in basic pediatrics, opportunity to explore sub-specialties as I wish to pursue a fellowship, ability to pursue advocacy, and be in a fun city with a lot of activities to make ample use of my free time. UCSF checked all these boxes for me. I loved the idea of working at a variety of hospitals where you would be able to experience different patient populations and resources.

At UCSF, I found a level of satisfaction in both residents and faculty that results from doing work that expands health equity. I found a program that invests in the passions of their employee, whether that be molecular science, public health, or resident wellness. Most of all, I found a community that is commited to my success and that supports eachother through difficult times.

I chose UCSF for residency because: I initially wanted to come to the west coast because my fiance was already out at UCSF as an Internal Medicine resident. When I was looking at programs out here, I loved the academic nature of UCSF's program that was also combined with strong community resources. I could tell when I visited (and did an away rotation out here) how close knit the teams were, and how much people really cared about each other and their patients.
